The statement added that separate crises persist in north-western Nigeria, as well as in parts of Cameroon and the Central African Republic, underscoring the urgent need for sustained humanitarian intervention across the region.

The Federal government also alleged that the defendants committed treason, acts of terrorism, failure to report security intelligence, and money laundering tied to terrorism financing.

The presiding judge, Justice JOYCE ABDULMALIK struck out the case yesterday after ruling that the applicant, EDOZIE NJOKU, failed to diligently prosecute the matter in line with legal requirements.

In a statement issued yesterday, the commission said it conducted a detailed forensic investigation into the viral screenshots circulating on social media, which purportedly showed the chairman making politically biased remarks, with the probe involving both internal analysis and an independent review by a cybersecurity expert. 

The ADC stressed that adopting what it described as a soft tone and prioritising rehabilitation without ensuring accountability undermines justice and weakens the fight against insurgency, insisting that the government’s approach lacks coherence, as it could be both ineffective and harmful.
