IGP DISU PLEDGES STRONGER POLICE ACTION AGAINST PLATEAU KILLINGS

The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) OLATUNJI  DISU, has pledged stronger police action to address the recent killings in Plateau State, promising closer cooperation with the state government and other stakeholders.

DISU made the commitment during a visit to the Plateau State Government House in Jos, where he met with Deputy Governor JOSEPHINE PIYO to discuss the security situation, particularly the recent attacks in Mangu.

He disclosed that some arrests had been made and said the Police would work towards finding a lasting solution to the violence.

The IGP also proposed an Orange Economy Security and Intellectual Property Coordination Desk within the Police Force to improve specialised policing and cooperation with relevant agencies.

He further called for better security for businesses operating at night, saying legitimate opportunities for young Nigerians could help reduce their involvement in criminal activities.
