The head of Voter Education, INEC Enugu has assured that INEC will issue PVC’s in readiness of the 2023 General Election.

The head of Voter Education, Independent Electoral Commission, INEC in Enugu State, Chukwuka Achumie has assured that the Commission will do all in its powers towards ensuring that all registrants who have attained 18 years and above duly registered and issued with their Permanent Voters Card in readiness of the 2023 General Election.

Achumie who gave the guarantee while addressing protesting youths who besieged the Commission’s headquarters in Enugu to protest the slow pace of the registration exercise in the State, said barring the current logistics challenges, the commission is dedicated more than ever to ensure that the process is managed seamlessly to ensure that every eligible citizen is captured in the exercise.

In their separate reactions, Johnson Kevin and Olaedo Izuchukwu expressed their disgust and frustration with the way INEC is handling the registration exercise, wondering why the Commission should allocate only one machine for the registration of over Eight thousand prospective registrants.

One of the volunteers, Francis, explained that they have offered to assist to reduce the suffering being encountered by the eligible registrants.

Urban Radio Correspondent Emeka Chibuoke said the youth, alleged that it’s a deliberate ploy by the electoral body to disenfranchise them.
