President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his decision to respect the maximum term limit in the Nigerian Constitution, saying that the person that tried seeking a third term in office did not end well.
In a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of United Kingdom Boris Johnson, on the margins of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting Chogm in Kigali, Rwanda, Buhari was asked if he would seek another term in obvious.
The President also reacted to the trials of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra Ipob, Nnamdi Kanu, denying insinuations that he was being denied seeing his lawyers privately, saying Kanu was being given every opportunity under the law to justify all the uncomplimentary things he had been saying against Nigeria in Britain.
On Boko Haram insurgency, he said there is an ongoing effort to educate the people on the fact that only an unserious person could kill innocent people, and say God is Great.
In his remark, Johnson said he was delighted about the good news on trade between the two countries, adding that the UK was further reducing tariffs on some goods going to Nigeria.
