GOVERNOR OTTI REJECTS UZODINMA’S CLAIM TO SPEAK FOR THE SOUTH-EAST

Abia State Governor ALEX OTTI has clarified that the South-East is not bound by Governor HOPE UZODINMA’S endorsement of President BOLA TINUBU for a second term, describing the Imo State governor’s position as a personal one.

OTTI stated that no individual governor has the authority to speak for the entire South-East or commit the region to any political stance ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The governor maintained that although UZODINMA has the right to publicly support President TINUBU’S re-election, his endorsement should not be regarded as the collective position of the South-East.

According to OTTI, the choice of Nigeria’s next president rests solely with the electorate and will be decided through the ballot.

He added that while governments at various levels may support national policies, such cooperation should not be misconstrued as a political endorsement.
