The Presidency yesterday condemned the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Kukah, over his criticisms of the government, urging him to face his job or join politics.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and Publicity Garba Shehu, in a statement yesterday evening, hours after the cleric accused the Muhammadu Buhari government, in his Easter message, of dividing Nigerians, asked the cleric to leave government to the voters and the politicians they elect, while he concentrates on his job.

Shehu, also accused him of making baseless accusations against the Federal Government, adding that he chose to use the Easter period, which serves as a period of reflection for Christians, to make dissensions and quarrels about the law.

Presidency said his accusatory list against the government revealed only his hatred for them, stressing that he still gave no proof when he accused them of division.
