The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Atiku Abubakar, yesterday met with the Party’s stakeholders in Enugu State in continuation of his consultation with stakeholders across the six geo-political zones in furtherance of his consultations for the 2023 election.
Addressing the audience, Atiku commended the host and governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his support, and patience, adding that campaigns and elections are huge, complex, and highly demanding undertakings, and they cannot leave anybody behind.
Revealing his massive development agenda for the Southeast zone, the former Vice President, outlined five priorities, namely the reunification of Nigeria, security, restructuring, improvement of the economy and human capital, and infrastructural development, and promised to tackle the issue of marginalization which he said is providing an excuse for separatist agitation.
His running mate and Governor of Delta State Okowa said the country is so disunited because there is no equity and justice, hence the need to make the right decision in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
In his speech, Ugwuanyi, who is the leader of the party in the Southeast zone and candidate of the party for Enugu North Senatorial District, formally welcomed former Atiku to Enugu and other esteemed leaders of the party who traveled from far and near, assuring them that Enugu State is essentially a PDP state.
Urban radio correspondent Ifeyinwa Ogbue said that the former Vice President was accompanied by the acting chairman board of trustees of the PDP, Adolphus Wabara, former president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, former Governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha, some national assembly members, governorship candidates of the party and other top dignitaries.
