Doyin Okupe has resigned as the Campaign Director-General of the Labor Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Okupe in a letter addressed to Obi yesterday said it is better not to allow his interest to distract his campaign and that of the party, hence his decision to step aside, pleading that Obi appoint a new Campaign DG who can continue the assignment with zero distractions.

He stated that he has invested too much in the movement to allow his travails to become a source of distraction.

Okupe’s resignation followed a judgment by the Federal High Court in Abuja which found him guilty of receiving over 200 million Naira cash from former National Security Adviser NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
