Abia State Governor, ALEX OTTI, has cautioned his supporters against interfering with opposition parties’ political activities, stressing the need to guarantee all political groups the freedom to campaign across the state.

Addressing supporters at the flag-off of the 2027 Labour Party campaign in Umuahia, OTTI maintained that opposition parties should have access to public facilities, including the stadium, provided they obtained the required approvals and made the necessary payments.

He also revealed that security agencies had been instructed to arrest anyone attempting to disrupt the lawful political activities of any group, regardless of their party membership.

The governor called on political stakeholders to centre their campaigns on policies and manifestos instead of personal attacks, noting that Abia had progressed beyond fundamental governance concerns, including the payment of salaries and pensions, road construction and urban sanitation.
