The chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, university of Abuja, Kassim Umaru, has criticized the federal government’s response to the ASUU strike, stating that the demands of the union were not too much to ask.
Umaru, who featured as a guest yesterday on the Urban Radio political Programme, The Parliament, said that ASUU is only demanding for a negotiation that would see to the revitalization of public institutions.
Speaking on the alleged threat by the federal government to proscribe the pressure group, the lecturer disclosed that ASUU was a legal entity with clear cut rights, and that members of the union are unbothered by such threats.
Adonis from Ebonyi state, who called in to contribute during the programme, expressed his disappointment in the unwillingness by both parties to come to an agreement and end the lingering strike.
