England manager THOMAS TUCHEL has defended his tactical decisions following the Three Lions’ 2-1 defeat to Argentina, which brought their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign to an end.

Argentina secured the 2-1 victory over England in the semi-final played yesterday, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, United States.

Speaking after the match, TUCHEL acknowledged that his team became too passive after taking the lead and failed to maintain possession, allowing Argentina to create numerous scoring opportunities.

He also justified his substitutions, explaining that the decision was aimed at tightening the defence after England came under sustained pressure.
