The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has announced Monday as a public holiday to mark the nation’s 62nd independence anniversary celebration

Aregbesola, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulates all Nigerians on this year’s celebration and guaranteed the government’s commitment to tackling all the challenges facing the nation and bringing smiles to the faces of all the people.

The former Governor of Osun State in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore, assured that the government will not abandon the people, but would continue to confront all the challenges with all resources available until there is a breakthrough.

The Minister urged Nigerians to work hard and shun any attraction to get rich through criminal and other immoral means, stating that only through productivity can an individual and the nation create wealth and get rich.
