President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the maltreatment of Nigerians and Africans at the Ukraine-Poland border.

Video making the rounds on social media showed Africans being relegated to the back of the queue and prevented from entering the train to Poland from Ukraine, including a mother with her baby, who were forced to give up their seats for Ukraine citizens.

The President, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, said everyone despite nationality, should be treated equally in the face of war, stressing that Africans, including Nigerians, have the same right to safe passage under UN Convention and the colour of their passport or their skin should make no difference.

The President however, prayed for those affected by this plight and expressed support to every diplomatic move to bring the Russian-Ukrainian war to end.
