POLICE IN ANAMBRA STATE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON UNITED STATE EMBASSY CONVOY.

The Police Command in Anambra State has arrested two suspects in connection with Tuesday’s attack on the United States US Consulate Convoy in Ogbaru Local Government Area. 

The Commissioner for Police in Anambra state, Echeng Echeng, during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Amawbia, said Preliminary investigations revealed that seven persons who were on a mission to assess the impact of erosion in Ogbaru were killed in the assault, and out of the seven, three were US Consulate officials and four were Mobile Police escorts.

Echeng added that a Joint Security Task Force comprising of police tactical teams and troops of the Nigerian Army and Navy, raided the suspects’ hideout at Ugwuaneocha community within Ogbaru Local Government Area.

The police chief said further investigations are underway and findings would be shared with the public in due time.
