The National President of the Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria PTAN, Haruna Danjuma has advised the federal and state governments to draft security agencies to strategic locations as schools across the nation prepare to resume today.

Danjuma in a statement said the call became necessary because kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism still persist and schools are still soft targets of attacks in the country, adding that it’s the responsibility of the federal and the state governments to be proactive in averting the menace of kidnapping in schools in the nation.

He charged all 36 states and the federal government of Nigeria to help protect the children through the provision of adequate security in both primary and secondary schools.

The chairman also noted that the Covid-19 pandemic is still a big threat to the existence of human beings, stressing the need for both states and federal to provide face masks, and hand sanitizers, and educate the students on it.
