An Enugu-based legal practitioner C. D. Ogbe, has said that the progress and development of Nigeria depend on the availability of quality education in the country.

Ogbe, who featured on the Urban Radio political program The Parliament, made this comment in response to the legal suit filed by the federal government of Nigeria against the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU in the National Industrial Court Abuja.

The lawyer lamented the educational challenges in the educational system of the country.

Speaking on the use of a legal suit, a chartered mediator and conciliator Ignis Ngene, who was also a guest on the program, maintained that a court case would not solve the problem, but will only make the strike linger.

Obinna from Enugu, who called in to contribute to the program blamed the academia for the present condition of public universities.
