GOVERNOR UGWUANYI LIFTS BAN ON OPERATION OF TRICYCLES, MOTORCYCLES AND TIPPER-TRUCKS IN COMMUNITIES IN ENUGU STATE

The Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday lifted the ban on operation of Tricycles, Motorcycles and Tipper-Trucks in Nkanu East, Nkanu West, Enugu South communities and other areas following Executive Order No.1: 2022 dated 24th February.


The State Government had placed the ban owing to the rising insecurity in the affected areas, especially the recent attack on voters during the just concluded Local Government elections in the State but after a security meeting with leaders of the different Associations and Unions, the Government lifted the ban.


The union leaders tendered unreserved apologies to the Governor and pledged to fish out the bad eggs among them and support the efforts of the security agencies to curb crimes in the State.


Chairman Tricycle Association of Enugu State Benjamin Ikeh, President Tipper Association, Nweke Andrew and the Chairman, Motorcycle Association, Chika Nweze, in their excitement hailed the Government for reversing the ban.
