Edward Ubosi has assured the people of Enugu State that the State Legislature under his watch would continue to represent the interest and yearning of the people, in the areas of enacting people-oriented legislations.

The Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly Edward Ubosi has assured the people of Enugu State that the State Legislature under his watch would continue to represent the interest and yearning of the people, in the areas of enacting people-oriented legislations.

Ubosi gave this assurance as part of his opening remarks at a one-day Public-Hearing on the 5th Alterations of Bills/Amendments of the selected Sections of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, held Legislative Complex, Enugu.

Doing an overview of the bills/amendment slated for passage by the House, one of the Resource Person John Mutu recalled that Enugu was one of the zones National Assembly conducted public hearing on the amendment of the 1999 Constitution, where a lot of issues were brought inform of memoranda to the National Assembly for consideration.

Speaking further on bill number one, that has dealt with autonomy of local government administration in Nigeria, he stated that the bill specifically seek to alter or abrogate the State Joint Local Government Account, while making provision for the creation of a special account.
