A Federal High Court in Enugu presided over by Justice Umar Mohammed Garba has adjourned the hearing of a suit seeking to sack the former Deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu from the Senate, until November 9, 2022,

Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice, are facing charges bordering on conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.

At the hearing of the matter yesterday in Enugu, Ogochukwu Onyema who contested the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Senate primaries with Ekweremadu in 2018, however, brought a motion to amend the originating summons.

The court however could not take the motion because, out of the seven respondents, only Ekweremadu’s lawyer, Ogochukwu Onyekwuluje was present.
