Barcelona Defender, Araujo to Undergo Thigh Surgery.

Barcelona have confirmed that their defender, Ronald Araujo will undergo surgery on a thigh injury picked up while playing for Uruguay during the international break.

In a statement issued by the club, revealed that Araujo will undergo surgery tomorrow for the adductor longus tendon avulsion he has in his right thigh, noting that the operation will be carried out by Doctor. Lasse Lempainen, under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff, in Turku, Finland.

Araujo had opted to go under the knife and he is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, however, Barcelona have not said how long the surgery will take, but reports suggest it will be around two to three months.

This could see Araujo miss out in Uruguay’s squad at this year’s Qatar World Cup in November.
