A former Commissioner of Police Lawrence Alobi has called for cooperation and collaboration amongst security agencies in country as the Security situation in Nigeria continued to deteriorate as a result of lack of synergy in operations and sharing of intelligence.
Alobi made the call at the Enugu Security Summit under the auspices of Michael Ekwo Foundation, in collaboration with School of Communication Arts, Institute of Management &Technology, Enugu, with the theme: Security, Society And The State; The Shrinking Role Of Government In National And Personal Security.
Taking a holistic look at the basic causes of insecurity in the country a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Felix Uyanna lamented that poor parents and erosion of family values contributed immensely to the current security problems in the country.
On the argument that Governors despite being Chief Executives of their States with free access to security votes have not been able to provide security to their states, Assistant Inspector General of Police Aig Felix Uyanna, agreed that governors being members of the Nigeria police council have failed in that respect.
