Brentford Records First-Ever Win Over Liverpool in 86 Years

Brentford made history yesterday after recording a famous first win over Liverpool since 1938, as an own goal from Ibrahima Konate and strikes from Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo sealed a remarkable 3-1 victory.

Konate met the same fate as Leicester’s Wout Faes did last night by accidentally turning the ball into his net for the opener in the 19^th minute before Wissa deservedly doubled the hosts’ lead from a Mathias Jensen’s cross three minutes before the break.
