Tottenham Hotspur have sealed the signing of Dutch star Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €60 million (£52m), beating Chelsea to his signature.

The 22-year-old midfielder has agreed to a five-year contract with Spurs, including an option for a two-year extension, potentially keeping him at the North London club until 2032. Leipzig will also benefit from a sell-on clause in the agreement.

Simons, regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents, can operate as an attacking midfielder or winger. Despite a dip in form last season, his creativity and versatility made him a top target across Europe.

The move reunites him with fellow Dutchman Micky van de Ven and significantly strengthens Tottenham’s attacking options as the club looks to push further up the Premier League table.
