SUPER EAGLES ARRIVE AT IKOT-EKPENE AHEAD OF 2027 AFCON QUALIFIERS

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially set up camp at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene, AkwaIbom State, as preparations gather momentum for their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying fixtures.

The squad hit the ground running with 20 players already reporting to camp, including stars such as Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, Calvin Bassey, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Ola Aina. Key squad members including team captain Wilfred Ndidi, winger Samuel Chukwueze, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali are expected to join the fold to complete the squad roster.

Head Coach Éric Chelle and his technical staff led the team’s initial training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo as the three-time African champions gear up for their Group L opener.

Nigeria will host Madagascar’s Barea in Uyo on Friday, September 25 2026, before jetting out to face Guinea-Bissau four days later.
