SULTAN OF SOKOTO DECLARES WEDNESDAY EID- EL-FITR

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitri day.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council, Professor Sambo Junaidu, 

The statement confirmed that the council has acknowledged the report and officially designated Wednesday as the commencement of Shawwal 1445AH.

However, the  Sultan felicitated with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wished them Allah’s guidance and blessings, while urging the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress, and development of the country.

 Saudi Arabia had earlier declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitr, after the crescent moon was not spotted on Monday evening.
