President BOLA TINUBU has commended security agencies on the successful rescue of 308 Nigerians who were abducted in separate incidents in Niger and Kwara states, describing the operation as a significant achievement.
The rescued victims included 163 people kidnapped from Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and 145 others from Niger State, who were freed during a coordinated intelligence-led operation conducted in the Kainji Lake National Park Forest.
In a statement, president TINUBU described the rescue mission, carried out by the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force, as the largest same-day rescue operation executed by the joint security team.
The President further commended the security agencies for their courage and seamless collaboration, while directing them to reinforce early warning systems, improve intelligence gathering and strengthen rapid response measures to prevent similar incidents.
