President BOLA TINUBU has approved Nigeria’s bid to host the 2026 CAF Awards as the country pushes to stage two major football events on the African continent.

The approval was disclosed in a statement by the Nigeria Football Federation, which also confirmed that the president endorsed Nigeria’s proposal to host the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly later this year.

TINUBU announced the approvals during the ongoing Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi following a meeting with the president of the Confederation of African Football, PATRICE MOTSEPE.

The 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly, scheduled for October, is expected to attract top football administrators and stakeholders from across Africa, including delegates from CAF’s 54 member associations and representatives of its six zonal unions.
