President BOLA TINUBU has appointed BIANCA ODUMEGWU-OJUKWU as Nigeria’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs following the resignation of YUSUF TUGGAR, who stepped down to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.

Before her elevation, ODUMEGWU-OJUKWU served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, bringing prior experience within the ministry to her new role.

A statement issued by the President’s spokesperson, BAYO ONANUGA, also announced that SOLA ENIKANOLAIYE has been nominated as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, pending confirmation by the Senate.

The Presidency said the appointments form part of broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy framework, enhance strategic global engagement, and build stronger international partnerships.

ENIKANOLAIYE, a career diplomat from Kogi State, previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
