President, BOLA TINUBU has assured Nigerians of the government commitment to reviving the country’s refineries to meet global standards.
The President gave the assurance yesterday in Abuja when he received the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), led by its National President, SALIMON OLADITI
He said the Federal Government would adopt an evidence-based approach to conduct a comprehensive structural and operational reset, stressing that it would address the challenges confronting the nation’s refineries, through detailed research, technical assessments, restructuring and improved management.
TINUBU said his administration had taken responsibility to tackle challenges inherited from previous governments, regardless of its longevity.
Nigeria has four main state-owned refineries in Port Harcourt, Rivers, Delta and Kaduna, with a combined installed capacity of about 445,000 barrels per day.
