NSCDC DEPLOYS 3,000 PERSONNEL ACROSS FCT AHEAD OF INDEPENDENCE DAYCELEBRATIONS.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), has deployed 3,000 personnel across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of security arrangements for Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations on    October first, 2026.

The FCT Command in a statement said the deployment was directed by  Commandant, OLUSOLA ODUMOSU , to strengthen security, maintain law and order, and protect lives and property before, during and after the celebrations.

ODUMOSU said personnel from specialised units, including the Arms Squad, Female Strike Force, Crack Squad, Agro Rangers unit, Counter-Terrorism Unit, are taking part in the operation. 

He also  noted  that  Undercover operatives have equally been activated for surveillance and intelligence gathering, particularly around areas suspected to be hideouts for criminals.

The Commandant further directs Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to maintain a strong presence across their areas and ensure personnel remain vigilant throughout the celebrations,  warning  that the command would not tolerate any security breach during the anniversary period.
