The President  of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), IBRAHIM GUSAU and General Secretary,  MOHAMMED SANUSI, have resigned from their positions, just weeks before the federation’s congress.

SANUSI confirmed the development saying the reports about the resignation of the two NFF officials were true.

The resignations come amid growing pressure on the NFF leadership and less than two months before the federation’s elective congress scheduled for September 27 in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The development marks an unprecedented moment in Nigerian football, as the resignation of the federation’s top officials is reportedly the first of its kind in the history of the country’s football administration.
