NDLEA DISMANTLES NIGERIAN-MEXICAN METH CARTEL IN ENUGU, ARRAIGNS KINGPINS

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered and dismantled a high-capacity clandestine methamphetamine laboratory operated by a transnational Nigerian-Mexican drug cartel in Eziama community, Obeagu, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Following months of intelligence-driven surveillance across Lagos, Anambra, and Enugu states, operatives from the NDLEA’s Special Operations Unit (SOU) raided the facility. Two key syndicate members—Chukwu Obumneme Christopher (alias Brown), 45, and Chukwu Georginus Monday (alias George), 60—were apprehended.

NDLEA Chairman/CEO Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd) praised the operatives for their persistence, asserting that the raid reinforces the agency’s resolve to prevent transnational syndicates from establishing drug havens within Nigeria.
