NDC DISOWNS ACCOUNT OF LOBBYING OBI AND KWANKWASO. 

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has distanced itself from a viral X account allegedly canvassing former presidential candidates PETER OBI and RABIU KWANKWASO to run on its platform in the 2027 election, maintaining that the party remains open to all Nigerians without bias.

In a statement issued by its National Secretary, IKENNA ENEKWEIZU, the party described the claims as false, attributing them to a rogue social media account impersonating its verified handle and disseminating misleading information.

The NDC stated that the account, which imitates its official identity using similar colours and logo, does not reflect its views or positions, stressing that it has no agreement with any individual or group concerning electoral contests.

The party added that it had earlier cautioned the public about the fake account and reiterated that its content should not be regarded as official communication, urging journalists and the public to verify information through its verified X handle to avoid misinformation.

Reaffirming its inclusive policy, the party said it welcomes all Nigerians willing to participate in politics to join and contest elections on its platform, while expressing appreciation for the level of support it has garnered within a short period since its formation.
