The lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District, ALI NDUME, has asked the Federal Government to probe a claim by the United States Congressman SCOTT PERRY that country’s Agency for International Development (USAID) funded terrorist organisations, including Boko Haram.

The lawmaker, said that the Nigerian government should be interested in the US congressman’s revelation, considering that there had been suspicions that foreign humanitarian agencies operating in Nigeria’s North-East zone sponsored terrorist activities.

NDUME described the development as worrisome, especially because one of the terrorist organizations mentioned is Boko Haram, which has ravaged not only the North-East but even other parts of Nigeria.

The lawmaker further noted that this was a wake-up for everyone in government, as there is need to fix the problem of leadership in the country so as to tap into what the nation has and be content.”
