Veteran Nollywood actor PETE EDOCHIE has ranked Chinua Achebe’s 1958 novel, *Things Fall Apart*, as the greatest book ever written in Africa, attributing its significance to its authentic depiction of the African experience.

In a recent interview, EDOCHIE stated that the novel gained widespread recognition because it told the African story, adding that subsequent efforts by other African authors had not achieved the same impact.

He encouraged African writers and creatives to focus on indigenous narratives, stressing that their cultural identity remained a distinctive asset in gaining recognition on the global stage.

However, the actor expressed concern that foreign influences were overshadowing African talents and cultural heritage.
