INEC TO DECLARE WINNER OF EBONYI STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION THIS MORNING

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ebonyi State Ugochi Onyeka yesterday declared that the final collation and announcement of the final result of the march 18th, 2023, governorship election for the State has been postponed till 10 am this morning.

Onyeka, made the announcement yesterday following the inability of the returning and collation officers for Ishielu Local Government Area, to reconcile figures compiled with the ICT desk at the collation center.

Meanwhile, out of the thirteen local government areas LGAs where elections took place on Saturday, twelve already had their results announced with the ruling All Progressives Congress APC candidate Francis Nwifuru ahead, with wins in nine LGAs.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA candidate Professor Ben Odo has won two LGAs while Ifeanyi Odii of the People’s Democratic Party won one Local Government Area.
