The government of Imo state has asked the federal government and the National Assembly to probe why and how Emeka Ihedioha was declared winner of the gubernatorial elections in 2019.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba during an interview yesterday noted that although the Supreme Court had already declared incumbent Governor Hope Uzodimma as the rightful winner of the election, there was a need to probe the circumstances that led to Ihedioha’s declaration when he didn’t meet the Constitutional requirements.
Emelumba reiterated that there was an urgent need for Nigerians to know who blatantly abused the constitution and appropriate sanction meted to them.
The traditional ruler of the Igbagwa Nike kingdom, Igwe Emmanuel Ugwu says traditional rulers are supposed to be apolitical with the coming of the 2023 general elections. Ugwu who stated this yesterday on the Urban Radio breakfast political program, The Parliament, said the concern and role of the traditional rulers are that of peace and the well-being of the nation, encouraging the people to come out in mass and vote.
