Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has sued the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal over the party’s presidential primary held in May.

Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has sued the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal over the party’s presidential primary held in May.

Wike is asking the court to determine whether Tambuwal having stepped down for Atiku during the primaries ought to lose his votes,

In the suit, the Governor, and a PDP chieftain, Newgent Ekamon, were listed as the plaintiffs, while the PDP was listed as the first respondent the Independent National Electoral Commission 2nd respondent and Tambuwal and Atiku 3rd and 4th respondents respectively.

The suit comes as the opposition party struggles to unite the Former Vice President and WIKE, two if its most influential members.
