FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND EDO STATE GOVT SET UP FACT-FINDING COMMITTEE OVER UROMI KILLINGS

The Federal Government, in collaboration with the Edo State Government, have set up a fact-finding Committee to look into the circumstances surrounding the recent killings of 16 Kano-bound Travellers in Uromi, the administrative headquarters of Esan North-East Local Government Area.

 Edo State Governor, Senator MONDAY OKPEBHOLO, disclosed this yesterday when he received a high-powered delegation from Kano State,  led by the Deputy Governor of the State, AMINU ABDULSALAM GWARZO at the Government House in Benin City.

 OKPEBHOLO said president BOLA TINUBUis determined to ensure the State and nation are safe for everybody to live and do business.

 On his part, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, ABDUSSALAM GWARZO said the delegation was in Edo State to thank the Governor for the peaceful steps he took when he came to Kano State in regards to the Uromi incident.

He also submitted the report of  the committee set up by the governor of Kano state,  to screen and verify, establish the names, numbers, next of kin and those who survived the attack, and further appealed to governor OKPEBHOLO to ensure that the investigation process is  transparent.
