The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied reports insinuating that its officials shared forfeited assets linked to the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), GODWIN EMEFIELE and his associates.

The commission in a statement by its spokesman, DELE OYEWALE, faulted theonline publication, describing the allegations of sharing proceeds of forfeited assets as strange..

OYEWALE  insisted that no official of the commission was, or has ever been involved in the “sharing” of any proceeds of forfeited assets, maintaining that the report was promoted to scandalise the agency as it betrays the author’s ignorance of the existing asset recovery and management framework.
