EFCC ARRESTS FORMER MINISTER OF POWER FOR MULTIBILLION NAIRA FRAUD.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, has arrested the former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman over alleged 22 billion Naira fraud.

Mamman, who was the minister of power from 2019 to 2021, was arrested yesterday morning and detained at the headquarters of the EFCC in Abuja in connection to investigations into corruption in the execution of some power projects.

The minister was accused of conspiring with ministry staff in charge of the accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects to divert 22 billion Naira and share among themselves.

The investigations are said to have uncovered properties in Nigeria and overseas linked to the suspects, while millions of dollars and naira have reportedly been recovered.
