CRISTIANO RONALDO RECEIVES UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ALL-TIME TOP SCORER AWARD

Multiple Ballon d’Or winner and Portugal forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured as the all-time leading goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League.

The achievements of Ronaldo in Europe’s premier club competition of more than 18 years,were recognised yesterday during the inaugural 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League 36-team league phase draw ceremony held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

The former Manchester United, Juventus forward and current Al Nasar player has scored 140 Champions League goals in 183 appearances making it 11 goals clear off Lionel Messi and 46 goals ahead of third-placed Robert Lewandowski at the top of the scoring charts.

 The UEFA president, Aleksander Čeferin said for more than two decades, Ronaldo has continuously evolved and refined his game while maintaining a youthful passion for scoring and celebrating goals, adding that his professionalism, work ethics, dedication, and ability to excel on the grandest stage are qualities that football players everywhere should aspire to emulate.
