The Lagos State Special Offences Court has directed the detention of Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of the defunct music group P-Square, for the alleged theft of 1 million dollars.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had earlier arraigned Jude alongside his company, Northside Music Limited, for diverting the sum of 767,544 dollars royalty payments belonging to his brother, Peter Okoye.

The EFCC prosecutor, Mohammed Bashiru, said the alleged offences were committed sometime between 2016 and 2023 and further requested that the defendant be remanded at the Lagos correctional centre but the defendant’s counsel, Clement Onwuenwunor asked the court to grant his client bail.

Following the submissions of both counsels, Justice Rahman Oshodi ordered the remand of the defendant at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending his bail application hearing on March 6.
