CELEBRITIES, CLERICS AND DIGNITARIES HONOUR ALEX EKUBOAT SERVICE OF SONGS

Prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry, religious community and public service sector, yesterday gathered in Lagos for a service of songs held in honour of the late Nollywood actor, ALEX EKUBO.

The solemn event took place in the Lekki area of Lagos State, drawing an impressive turnout of celebrities, dignitaries, family members, friends and admirers who came together to celebrate the life and legacy of the acclaimed actor.

The service featured prayers led by Clergymen ITUAH IGHODALO and JERRY EZE, who delivered messages of comfort and hope to grieving family members and guests, while several leading gospel musicians including PETERSON OKOPI, EBUKA SONGS, MOSES BLISS and MERCY CHINWO performed during the event

Among the notable personalities in attendance was former Minister of Education, OBY EZEKWESILI, who joined mourners in paying tribute to the late film star, while Nollywood’s biggest names., including; FUNKE AKINDELE, DAYO AMUSAN, KATE HENSHAW, OMONI OBOLI, NANCY ISIME, INI EDO, BLESSING NZE, RUTH KADIRI, IKE OGBONNA, among others were also present at the event.

ALEX EKUBO passed away at a Lagos hospital on May 11, 2026, following a prolonged battle with advanced kidney cancer, and will be laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in his hometown of Ujari Village, Abia State.
