National Universities Commission has given universities the nod to decide 30% of their curriculum content. Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, stated this today at the presentation of licenses to 12 new private universities recently approved by the Federal Executive Council, FEC.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to consider the plight of the students and end the lingering strike. The President made the appeal at the 19th National Productivity Day Celebration and Conferment of National Productivity Order of Merit Award, held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
