The Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has charged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’S) to advance their performance bar and re-strategize on achieving the states Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target for 2022 fiscal year (budget).
Ugwuanyi who was represented by the Secretary to State Government Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya during the flag off of the Summit, commended the Chairman Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS) and his team for improving the IGR of the state without extra tax burden on the citizens and companies in the state.
The commissioner of ESIRS, Prince Odo lauded the Governor for the enormous support towards their services and to the MDAs in the state, by reforming and transforming the revenue service.
In her goodwill message, the Commissioner for Finance Ada Uyanwune, stressed that growing of revenue is not about increasing taxation of revenue, but about cutting cost, harmonizing of taxes and harnessing of resources.
Urban Radio Correspondent Ifeyinwa Ogbue said that among the dignitaries at the event included the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, David Ugwunta the Special Adviser to the Governor on Financial Matters Pascal Okolie and other stakeholders.
