The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has inaugurated a multi-agency committee to coordinate logistics for the 2027 general elections, warning that no voter should be denied the opportunity to vote because of delays in the arrival of election materials.

INEC Chairman, JOASH AMUPITAN, announced this in Abuja, stressing the need for early preparations ahead of the polls scheduled for January 16 and February 6, 2027.

AMUPITAN directed the  committee, chaired by National Commissioner,  JAMILA MALAFA, to assess transportation, storage and security arrangements for election materials across the country.

In addition he  also urged the National Orientation Agency, (NOA), to intensify voter education across all 774 local government areas to tackle voter apathy, vote buying and electoral violence.

In the same vein, the NOA Director-General, LANRE ISSA-ONILU, said the nationwide campaign would use community meetings, local languages, radio programmes, drama and digital platforms to reach citizens.
