GOVERNOR ADELEKE ACCUSES OYETOLA OF PLANNING TO RIG POLLS AND VOWS RESISTANCE

Osun State Governor ADEMOLA ADELEKE has raised the alarm over what he described as an alleged threat by former Governor and Minister, GBOYEGA OYETOLA, to rig the August 15 governorship election.

ADELEKE vowed that the people of Osun State would resist any attempt to subvert their mandate in the election.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, OLAWALE RASHEED, ADELEKE accused OYETOLA of engaging in anti-democratic activities and alleged that members of the Accord Party were being subjected to police harassment.

The governor’s reaction followed a viral video in which OYETOLA dismissed claims of President BOLA TINUBU’s support for ADELEKE and said political endorsements would not prevent the governor from losing the election.

ADELEKE called on national and international pro-democracy groups to intervene, alleging that OYETOLA’s remarks amounted to a threat to free and fair elections and reflected the APC’s alleged loss of confidence among Osun voters.
