Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have destroyed a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP hideout and recovered weapons during a clearance operation in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation was disclosed in a post shared yesterday on X by security analyst ZAGAZOLA MAKAMA, who cited military sources, revealing that the operation was conducted on Saturday after troops received credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists around the Layi area.

The report stated that troops of the 145 Battalion (Mechanised), led by their Commanding Officer, advanced to the location, and on sighting the troops, the suspected terrorists reportedly fled the area.

The soldiers subsequently overran and destroyed the hideout before conducting a search, during which they recovered a pump-action rifle and three AK-47 magazines believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing insurgents.
