NSC INCREASES TITLE PRIZE TO 1 BILLION NAIRA.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced a significant increase in prize money for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), with next season’s champions set to receive 1 billion naira, up from the current 200 million naira, as part of wide-ranging reforms aimed at repositioning domestic football.

The announcement was made by the NSC Chairman, SHEHU DIKKO, during a high-level strategic meeting with officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja.

The meeting, which took place at the commission’s headquarters, was attended by DIKKO, NSC Director-General BUKOLA OLOPADE, NFF President IBRAHIM GUSAU, NFF General Secretary MOHAMMED SANUSI and Super Eagles Head Coach ERIC CHELLE.

In another major policy decision, the NSC approved a minimum monthly salary of 2 million naira for NPFL players as part of efforts to enhance players’ welfare and improve the competitiveness of the domestic league
